2022 LBI Carolina Summer Showcase

Day 2 & 3

Concord, NC – Summer travel season has officially begun and in pure LBI fashion we are making our way around the country. I had the pleasure of going to North Carolina to not only support our LBI family in the south, but to also watch some amazing talent. Some of the bests of the best were in the building. Day 1 was just a warmup compared to days 2 and 3. Players seemed to get better overnight, and the competition was fierce. The college coaches that attended did not waste a trip. Players stepped up and showed out.

DAY 2 & 3 STANDOUTS

Skyla Tuthill 2025 Team Curry GUAA
When you need a shooter, Skyla should definitely be taking the shot. She was able to sink them from all over the court, with a hand in her face, off the bounce, and after a nice step-back move. She works to get open and has a great court awareness. She didn’t force anything and was a great defender.

Marja Pass 2023  Team Curry GUAA
When you’re on a team loaded with talent, being a floor leader is sometimes difficult to do. Not for Marja. She did an amazing job at keeping her composure, calming her team down and controlling the tempo of the offense. She has nice court vision and a nice IQ that put her squad in a position to win every single game. She is an energy source.

Gabriel Minus 2026  Team Elite 3SSB Harris
Gabriel is a long athletic player that makes things happen. She rebounds in and out of her area, blocks shots, and gets to the rim. She can finish with and without contact. She battles inside but she is quick and athletic enough to defend the perimeter. She played the lanes on defense and took the ball from coast to coast in transition.

Asia Johnson 2026  Team Elite 3SSB Harris
Great court vision and aggressive defense are two things that Asia consistently brought to the court. Her ability to see cutters and advance the ball during fast breaks set her team up for multiple easy buckets. She is an in-your-face, “gimmie that” type of defender and she uses that energy to score and attack the basket on the offensive end.

Rayanna Howell 2024   1 Nation 16u 3SSB
Tough as nails on both sides of the court. She gets to the paint with a bunch of contact and still finds a way to feed her teammate or get the bucket and foul. On defense she gets low and works hard. She can defend at a high level and convert in transition. She’s vocal and can be a floor leader. If you leave her open on the perimeter, she will make you pay.

Jayda Cobbs 2025  West Coast United 16u 3SSB
Jayda can play multiple positions and play them well. She handles the ball under pressure, looking up and finding her open teammate or attacking the gap and finishing strong at the rim. She’s long and has a nice wingspan, causing her to be a defensive nightmare…well depending on which end of the stick you’re own. She’s a work horse and she goes hard every possession.

Taijanna Avant-Roberts 2024   West Coast United 16u 3SSB
Taijanna is a scorer that can handle contact and a double team. She has quick first step and reaction time making it a difficult task to stay in front of her. She’s super athletic, jumping high for rebounds, altering shots, and intercepting passes. She can takeover a game when needed but is not the selfish type. She can turn up the heat.

Hailee Swain 2025  Team Elite Hubbard 3SSB 17u
Hailee has great court awareness and knows how to play within the flow of the offense. She can create shots for herself and knows when to score. She can also set her teammates up for easy buckets. She can play multiple positions but is most comfortable with the ball in her hands, being the floor general for her squad. Hailee is also a shooter, knocking down shots from deep.

Makailah Davis 2025  Team Curry 15u GUAA
A high motor with relentless play, Makailah is a battery pack for her team. She goes 100mph every possession and does not let up. She is an excellent on the ball defender. She plays physical and can take just as much as she gives. When she gets going downhill, she gets the basket whenever she wants to.

Chloe Galombeck 2025 Team United Thompson
Chloe brings a very particular swag and sauce to the game that sometimes is hard to find. She can handle the rock. Under pressure and even one-on-one against great defenders, she’s got an arsenal of moves and can hold her own. She lit the gym on fire from behind the arc, sinking threes from everywhere, most of them contested.

Emily King 2025  Team United Thompson
When it comes to scoring, Emily found a way to get it done. If she was anywhere near the rim, she was getting a shot off. She had some spectacular moves and handled contact well. On defense, she made sure she was in the right place at the right time, creating turnovers and steals, scoring in transition.

Amiyah Ferguson 2023  Upward Stars 3SSB 2023
Quick and athletic, Amiyah is a game changer. She can takeover in more ways than one. She can score. She can create her own shots and executes in the clutch. She directs traffic and controls the flow of the offense. She can also press the gas and be an energy source to speed the game up, especially on the defensive end. She is solid.

Jayla Brantley 2024   Fayetteville Stars 17u
Jayla was an inside presence that you only could not ignore but, in many cases, she could not be controlled either. She was dominate on the boards, rebounding and getting second chance points. She moves well without the ball and knows how to make herself available on offense. She was great on defense as well. She can alter shots and get stops with the best of them.

Sabria Mann 2025   Hunting Park Warriors 15u
Sabria is a hard-working versatile player that has an impact on the game in more ways than scoring. She hustles and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. She can shoot from deep but is tough enough to get inside and finish with contact. She has a high motor and is able to play hard even when she’s a little winded.

Desteyn Seeaton 2024  GA Dreams Team 2024
At one point in the game Desteyn had 15 points, her team had 20. She just knows how to get it done and takeover when she needs too. She has a solid frame and knows how to use it, bullying her way through traffic. She’s crafty and has an in and out dribble that left defenders stuck. She has great court vision and understands that if 3 people were on her, then someone must be open. She did a good job of finding them. She has a nice upside.

Gabrielle Hoover 2023  1 Nation Elite 17u 3SSB
Gabrielle has a long stretch and knows how to use it to her advantage on both offense and defense. She rebounds and did a great job of keeping the ball high and putting in the basket for second chance points. She’s able to put the ball on the court and beat bigger players off the dribble and use her size and length against smaller players. She has an inside/outside game and the ability to play in both areas well.
