The LBI Carolina Top 100 exposure event was the place to be if you were a top athlete in the Carolinas. Here is a breakdown of what these 2026-2028 guards can offer.
Ava Vonderkall | O’Neal | G 2026
Vonderkall did a great job of creating her own offensive possessions from her defense. She was jumping into passing lanes causing deflections and steals, especially when she was in a full court press. Once she had the ball, she made some strong moves to protect the possession and handled it well moving up the court.
Gabrielle Troy-Mebane | Mint Hill Middle | CG 2026
Another player who did well on defense was Troy-Mebane. She was all over her opponent when playing defense, but she also showed her ability to slide into a help position. On offense she showed that she can shoot from all over the court including behind the arc.
Hannah Moss | Mint Hill Middle | SG 2026
Moss seemed to be involved in every offensive possession for her team. She handled the ball well, would drive into the paint for lay-ups or floaters, and she was able to make some great passes to her teammates to get them involved. When she didn’t have the ball, she was constantly cutting into open passing lanes. On defense, look for her to grab some steals, too.
Morgan Young | Saluda Trail Middle | SG 2026
Young showed that she could guard any position on the court. She was effective at keeping her opponents in front of her and using her length to create some blocks. She would convert these to fast breaks and showed her ability to make some nice passes while moving quickly up the court.
Jaida McClure | Northside | CG 2026
McClure was making plays all over the court, especially inside where she made baskets through contact and positioned herself well against all opponents. She was making nice cuts inside to get the pass herself, or she was looking for her teammates to dish the ball to them. On defense, she stripped the ball from an opposing guard dribbling and even made a nice block showing she is a problem for opponents on both ends of the court.
Britni Silver | Hope Middle | G/F 2026
Silver showed that she already knows what to do with her length when playing basketball. She rebounded the ball well, and she had several blocks when opponents were trying to make some points inside the paint. On offense, she did a great job positioning herself to get the pass in order for her to score.
Amelia Williams | Indian Land Middle | G 2027
Williams was an exciting player to watch with her ability to move from one end of the court to the other handling the ball with speed and efficiency. She drove the ball inside fighting through contact, and she had a nice crossover move to help separate herself from her defender.
Kennedy Moore | O’Neal | G 2027
Moore is another player that used speed to the best of her ability. She blew by her opponents creating plays for herself or found her teammates to get involved. She consistently fought through contact showing she was not going to be stopped getting to the basket.
Christian Mundy | Cuthbertson Middle | SG 2027
Mundy pushed the ball up the court keeping her eyes up and using her vision to make the best plays when handling the ball. She had a nice crossover move to create a lay-up for herself, and she showed off her shot from all over the court. On defense, she was aggressive and even made a nice block.
Christian Johnson | Cuthbertson Middle | PG/SG 2027
Johnson could have taught a clinic on how to use a hesitation move to get by her opponents. She would use this to create space between her and her opponent to show off her shot, or she would use it to get by her defender in order to make a pass into her teammate.
Kaleigh Lucas | Cherry Park Elementary | PG 2028
That’s right! A 2028 made it to the LBI Carolina Top 100, and she proved that she deserved to be there. She was very fast with the ball, and she had an array of basketball moves that she could make when trying to create plays for her team. Her speed alone was hard to stop, but she showed that she could fight through contact if the defense did catch up to her. She showed off her shot from all over the court, and she even followed shots grabbing rebounds for some second chance opportunities.
