Columbia, SC – The SkyHawk Holiday Showcase hosted by LBI Carolina and The Hammond School out of Columbia, SC brought together 10 South Carolina teams and 1 lone North Carolina team. The event featured some tough match ups and brought out some future stars. While year 1 of the event was great, we are looking for year 2 to be even better!
2022 pg Anala Nelson Lower Richland HS (SC)
Nelson put together a couple of very good games scorching the nets in game 1 for 25 points in a win. She is a point guard with good size at 5’10, has a very good understanding of the game and can score in bunches. Should be fun to watch as she continues to develop over the next couple of years.
2021 post Keairra Gregory Northwood Academy (SC)
Traditional post player at 6’2, soft hands, understands positioning on both ends, does a good job rebounding and keeping the ball high, finishes through contact, very strong. Should be on a lot of college radars at this point.
2020 pg Jasmine Lowman Swansea (SC)
Very solid lead guard that knocks down the 3 ball. Does a great job running the show for Swansea, simply does what’s needed. Good on ball defender, something positive usually happens when the ball is in her hands.
2020 g Lauren Scott Hammond School (SC)
Can really light it up from deep, combo guard that can play both guard positions. Good on ball defender, tough kid that’s not afraid to mix it up.
2022 g Alexia Grant First Baptist (SC)
Super athletic 5’10 wing, long and wiry, gets her hands on lots of balls, excels in transition, dangerous off the dribble. Can defend 1-3.
2020 post Raeanna Lohse Concord First Assembly (NC)
A 6'4 post with some impressive tools, can knock down the 3 ball, has good hands and a soft touch from 12' feet. Does a good job rebounding both ends, Lohse has natural shot blocking ability. After a year off from basketball, she is making great strides getting back in the groove. D2/D3 schools should be lining up for her services.
Lower Richland stood out as the top team at the SkyHawk Holiday Showcase. Led by dynamic '22 pg Anala Nelson who had a very productive weekend. '20 g Tasharia Jones is a very strong physical player that creates a lot of match up problems and '22 g Shawnteanna Tillman a heady guard that always seems to make the right play. A good on ball defender that makes it difficult for the opposing team to get into their offense. Look for Lower Richland to make a deep run in the South Carolina state playoffs in March.
