The 5th annual LBI Elite 48 camp kicked off this past Sunday in Concord, NC. We had a great mixture of middle school and high school prospects. Some familiar faces as well as a bunch of new faces ready to introduce themselves to the basketball world. Once again the skills and development session was led by Jody Patton, founder of KOD (Kingdom of Development) Skills Academy. Like always he had the ladies excited and competing hard against one another. Here are some of the standouts from the event.

Middle School

2024 6’3 Post Ella Hobbs (NC)
Poised to be the next big time post player from the Charlotte area. Very fluid in transition, soft hands and a good touch around the basket. Does a great job using her body, doesn’t shy away from the contact. Hobbs is a natural shot blocker on the defensive end. We haven’t seen a post in the Charlotte area with this much promise since Janelle Bailey (UNC Chapel Hill).

2024 5’8 G Reese Wilson (NC)
Huge upside for this combo guard, she really shoots the 3 ball well from deep. Showed an improved handle and good decision making. Very poised for a young guard, plays ahead of her years. Has a chance to be special.

2025 5’1 PG Danauje Brooks (NC)
Lighting in a bottle! Small and compact but very quick and strong. Does a great job getting into the lane and creating opportunities for herself and teammates. Lock down defender that is up for the challenge regardless of size and position. Had a great camp!

2025 5’3 G Teericka Dowling (SC)
One of the top 3 point shooters at the Elite 48. Very active on both ends, has a High IQ, made good decisions off the ball screens. Effective off the bounce attacking the lane.

2024 5’6 G Alexandria Bennon (SC)
Dangerous in transition, finishes in multiple ways….left, right…however you want it, has a good handle. Plays with lots of energy, made some impressive athletic moves in traffic. Def one to watch.

2024 PG 5’1 Zamareya Jones (NC)
Came in with a reputation, walked out with it still intact. Maybe the most exciting player in the 2024 class, she does it all. Always seems to be 2 steps ahead of the game. Jones is a natural point guard that has the ability to slide to the off guard position and get buckets. Will be fun to watch her mature.

2024 G 5’6 Jazlyn Harris (NC)
Probably 2024’s best kept secret…for now. Has that natural “it” factor. The game comes so easy, she does multiple things very well with little effort. Really shoots it well from deep but also can get to the rack at will.

2024 F 6’3 Joyce Edwards (SC)
She spent time playing with both the middle school and high school groups. Was able to compete at a high level in both groups. Game is really evolving, showed off a nice 17’ jump shot. Big time rebounder on both ends, soft touch in the paint, natural shot blocker. Tremendous upside.

High School

2023 PG 5’7 Milaysia Fulwiley (SC)
Top 2023 player in the Carolina’s continues to get better and make you sit on the edge of your seat. Showed an improved jump shot and seems to be incorporating the midrange into her bag. Should be an exciting high school season for her.

2021 PG 5’7 Aylesha Wade (SC)
Super strong, dynamic guard that excels in transition. Wade’s ability to finish plays with bigger players pulling and tugging on her is amazing. Nonstop motor on both ends, improving her jump shot will take her to the next level.

2021 G 5’8 Destiny Long (NC)
Very athletic prospect that gets after it on both ends. Her long reach makes her a problem guarding the ball and playing the passing lanes. Does a good job finishing from the wing in transition. Showed she is comfortable playing 1-3.

2022 PG 5’6 Tyra Myers (SC)
Shoots the ball well from deep, lock down defender, does a good job running the show from the point. Very impressed with her ability to get in and rebound amongst the trees. Tough kid with no back down in her.

2021 G 5’10 Nia Nelson (NC)
Long athletic wing that plays downhill, very good footwork and moves attacking the basket. Can knock down the 3 ball, not afraid to mix it up on the defensive end. Plays hard all of the time.
