Mooresville, NC - Year 2 of NYG Hoops/Carolina Girls Hoop Report I77 Skills Evaluation & Showcase picked up where they left off last year. Some very talented prospects took to the floor as showed that they have next! Here are some that stood out to the LBI Carolina staff.

2023 Miya Giles-Jones 6’ F Fayetteville Stars
Strong athletic kid, very bouncy, makes some tough impressive plays going to the basket. Does a good job playing through the contact. Has a chance to be really good. 

2022 Emma Fox 6’4 Post I-40 Elite
Big strong traditional post, does a good job rebounding on both ends, good footwork on the block. Still raw on the offensive end but game is coming along. Has a nice stroke from 10’ to 15’ feet. 

2021 Keonna Bryant 5’10 G Fayetteville Stars
Defensive stopper, athletic enough to defend all perimeter positions, knocks down the 3 ball. Very good in transition, does a good job filling the wing and finishing.

2022 Amiah Savage 5’9 G Fayetteville Stars
The best shooter at the I77 event. Watched her knock down 5 straight jump shots to start the game Saturday afternoon. Kid has good court awareness, makes her teammates better and does a good job finishing in transition.

2023 Kirsten Lewis-Williams 5’8 G LKN1
Super athletic guard that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Savy ball handler that gets to the rack at will. Very dangerous in the open floor, has a huge upside. One to keep an eye on.

2024 Joyce Edwards 6’1 F SC76ers
Coming off her offer this summer from South Carolina, she continued her high level of play and today was no different. With her length, she is active in the paint on both ends. She rebound extremely well and is a shot blocker. Offensively her game is growing and as it continues, expect her to draw more interest as a major prospect.

2024 Zamareya Jones 5’1 PG Carolinas Elite ASGR
High IQ point guard with a tremendous skill set. She is always under control and continually gets her teammates involved. She knocked down shots from three and in traffic. Very well balanced player that is highly competitive. One of the top players today regardless of class. 

2026 Gabrielle Troy-Mebane 5’3 PG Charlotte Lady Monarchs
Hustle kid that is always around the ball. She ran the point on multiple occasions and is crafty around the basket. She is going to be a player to track as she continues to develop.

2024 Taylor Barner 5’7 PG Carolina Elite
She is effective going either left or right and was a step quicker than her opponents today. A point guard that created her own shot and also played well off the ball. Defensively she uses her quickness well and played with confidence. 

2024 Bailee Goodlett 5’6 G Team Fly
A slasher that continually attacked the basket and had multiple people asking “who is this kid”. She ran the floor well and gets end to end both offensively and defensively. Rebounded well from the guard position. As she continues to develop and grow physically, she will be a player to keep an eye on.
