LBI Event Recap: Summer Showcase

The 2019 edition of the LBI Summer Showcase took place at Carolina Courts in Concord, NC on July 6-7 with a plethora of talented squads on display. The event historically draws some of the best high school girls talent in the Southeast and this year’s showcase provided plenty of early July fireworks. Quite a few young ladies made tremendous strides to raise their stock in front of the large number of college coaches in attendance. These were among The Best of The Best: 


Ashlyn Watkins 2022 PF THE SC76ERS BLACK 
Sturdy, versatile 4/ 5….active on the glass... ability to handle the ball in transition, runs the floor extremely well...adept at going up strong and creating contact...her ability to elevate enables her to play at a different level at times….alters nearly as many shots as she blocks.

Darrionna Howard 2023 PF CAROLINA FLAMES 2023 SPENCER
Flat out rebounding machine…footwork and a solid set of fundamentals enhance her upside…a solid set of post moves and the ability to attack from the wing off the bounce make her an intriguing next level prospect… Has enough weapons in her tool kit to be an impact player at the high school level for the next 4 years.

Haley Lowe 2020 PF CAROLINA LADY PHENOM
Strong, athletic traditional post-player who looked comfortable facing up and stepping out to the perimeter...displayed the ability to pound the rock with both hands to create opportunities for herself and teammates…solid  basketball IQ and court awareness are just two of her strong suits...as her perimeter shooting consistency improves she becomes a very appealing prospect for a program looking for a post with a solid face up game.

Blaikey Crooks 2020 SF NC GEMS 2020
Equally, adept on the wing or in a crowd… athletic, streaky shooter with a quick release.. Can pull up consistently from an 18ft...tremendous upside.

Te’keyah Bland 2023 PF CAROLINA ALL-STARS 16U
Top-flight rebounder...Long with a solid college ready build... Aggressive on the boards, especially on the offensive end...played through contact consistently...stock should rise if she can display consistency off the bounce.

Tanjaneeka Eichelberger 2021 PG CAROLINA FLAMES 10TH HODGES
Looks to attack the rim and adapts to contact...a leader out front who consistently dictated tempo on both ends...superior decision maker especially in the open floor.

Aliciah Fields 2021 PF CAROLINA FLAMES/ CHARLOTTE 17U
Active and athletic post player who is comfortable on the blocks or facing the hoop….dangerous finisher in transition where her length and speed create match-up issues for the opposition….Developing array of post moves offensively and becoming more explosive off the bounce from the wing...Tremendous upside.

Kennedy Calhoun 2021 PG CAROLINAS ELITE 17U
Jet quick whippet who is at her best when the game speeds up….her ability to take care of the ball and deliver it on-time make her equally dangerous in a half court set...very disruptive on the defensive end where her she is always a step ahead of the play...can score points in bunches when needed.

Sandajah Vance 2021 PG LADY TEAM SC 10TH
Plays both ends of the floor with vigor...an intense guard that defensively puts on ball pressure and leads on the floor...Creates space for her solid, soft touch mid-range.

Randria Anderson 2020 PG LADY TEAM SC Black
Long, athletic guard... a flashy ball handler and gets busy off the dribble...uses length over smaller defense to create a shot or attack... sets the tempo of the game.

Emma Santoro 2021 PF SURRY STORM 17U
Athletic forward with lots of length...finishes well in the uptempo game...good deal of upside as a 4 /5  down the road as her offensive game continues to evolve.

Eva Butler 2022 PG TEAM LOADED KOD
Pushes the ball well in transition... makes smart decisions on the fly...solid assist to turnover ratio... A knock down shooter with range beyond the arc.

Madelynn Dillinger 2021 PF TEAM LOADED NC GIRLS WATTS
A presence down low.. Uses ball fakes and hoop savvy to keep defenders off balance and create space...rebounds and outlets the ball well…on floor leader on both offense and defense...a grinder, with solid fundamentals and a matching work ethic.

Imani Williams 2022 PG THE SC76ERS SIZZLE
Athletic…. extremely quick on feet..her foot speed and tenacity enable her to control the flow of the game without a shot...could emerge as a game changer over the next few seasons...one to watch.

Vanessa Blake 2021 Post LOWCOUNTRY PREMIER BALLERS 2021
A strong  low post operator... shows great footwork on post moves...solid outlet passer.... runs the floor and competes hard on both ends.
