LBI Event Recap: Carolina JamFest part 2

CHARLOTTE NC- With the competition running hot across 5 different venues in the Metro Charlotte area several athletes took measures to raise their stock at The LBI Carolina Jamfest.. Nearly 100 college coaches were on hand to view the action and the following players elevated their play a few notches to close out the May NCAA live period.

2020 pg Assiyah Mitchell Team Loaded NC KOD
The 5’9 combo guard plays much bigger than her size…..extremely crafty at creating her own shot off the bounce..plays the game with a lot of intensity...above average skills in most key areas...as she adds some polish to her game she should start popping up on more recruiters radar...Next level athleticism make her one to watch during the upcoming NCAA  viewing period.

2023 pg Rhian Lawrence Carolina Dream
A 5’5 point guard who consistently made solid decisions out front especially in a half court set...Nice perimeter shooter but at her best distributing the ball to others...Defends with tenacity and guards well in space.

2022 sf Ayanna Williams Carolina Dream
Had a full array of offensive weapons on display with a number of high profile programs courtside....Pull-up jumpers, floaters,deep spot up three’s and the ability to get to the rim off the bounce were all part of this small forwards tool kit...Always in attack mode...deceptively strong and displayed a penchant for finishing in traffic...high productivity every time she touched the ball.

2020 sg Bailey Trumm Kentucky Premier
A high octane player who consistently outworked the opposition on both ends of the floor...Consistent perimeter scorer who displayed a high basketball IQ with the ball in her hands...quick footed defender who does a great job of keeping her nose on the ball… Unselfish talent who does not need to dominate the ball offensively to contribute.

2021 sg Emily Carver Kentucky Premier
Extremely athletic wing who consistently used her length to advantage on the offensive end..quick release with a deft shooting touch from 15-18 feet but does not shy away from contact inside...Defends with passion… high motor player worthy of a closer look.

2021 pf Jabrea Johnson Kentucky Premier
Solid, strong six-foot post player with tremendous upside.... A classic banger with good hands and a soft shooting touch...was equally comfortable stepping out to the perimeter in the teams motion offense where she consistently found open cutters...if she can consistently knock down the mid-range jumper she will become even an even hotter commodity this off-season.

2023 pg Samyha Suffren Carolina All-Stars 16u
Not a lot of holes in her game...can score with the best of them but what separates her from her peers is her court vision...delivered the right pass at the right time every time down the floor...ability to see open players or plays before they fully develop is uncanny...lightning quick and adept at dribbling with both hands...Her versatility made her a matchup nightmare for most opponents...a standout on the defensive end as well...High major prospect who at times is too unselfish.

2021 sg Kayla Cabbagestalk Power Move 16U Black
Lots to like in this Marylanders game..Plays the game with intensity on both ends...versatility is her strong suit-displayed solid ball handling, rebounding and passing skills...her leaping ability enable her to matchup against taller opposition...also displayed a dynamite perimeter stroke.

2022 sg Aysia Hinton Carolina All-Stars 16u
A “knock down” perimeter shooter with range...Not afraid to take big shots under pressure...Finishes well in transition game...Displayed solid understanding of how the game should be played on both ends...a sleeper pic with the athleticism to raise her stock in the coming months.

2022 post Olivia  Brooks Team Loaded 703 Cortez
Solid 6-2 classic post player...Big, strong athlete who displayed a thorough understanding of inside play...Not the fastest from end to end but a true presence in the paint when she sets up shop….Good positional rebounder and shot blocker...as her offensive game improves she should start garnering more attention.

2020 pg Mackenzie Freeze Team Loaded 703 Cortez
A “sparkplug” out front who uses tenacity and basketball smarts to great advantage...a floor general with the ability to break down defenses off the bounce or pull-up jumpers in traffic...Solid three-point shooting touch.

2020 sg Aaliyah Pitts Team Loaded 703 Cortez
A standout on both ends of the court...Athletic wing who runs the floor extremely well and finishes with contact...Solid perimeter shooting touch...Rebounds the ball very well...Good 1 on 1 defender...Has all the skills at her disposal to be an impact player at the next level.

2020 pf Vanessa Laumbach Team Loaded 703 Cortez
A prototypical “4”...Gets up and down the floor well and showed the ability and willingness to mix it up in traffic...good footwork and body positioning in the paint...has a lethal jump hook from 10-12 feet...Could be an impact performer at the next level.

2022 pg Katelyn Dunning Peak Performance Miller
Quick, heady PG...Very active on the perimeter and a vocal leader on both ends of the floor...can get to the rim at will off the dribble...Solid all-around skill set...as her perimeter shooting consistency rises so should her stock.

2025 pg Makailah Davis 1 Dream 2023
A complete ball player who operates with a high motor...Can play either guard spot...Above average ball handling skills coupled with a solid perimeter stroke make her a tough matchup for most defenders...Willingness to hustle and go after loose balls are a bonus in this future star.

2020 pg Lauren Sullivan Team United
Smart, extremely active wing who rarely makes a bad decision..deceptively athletic player with the ability to consistently score from 15-18 feet...does all the little things ( cutting, screening, help defense) that often goes un-looked but are big factors in team success...fundamentally sound, high IQ baller who should excel at the next level.

2021 pg Tanajah Hayes Team United
Masterful at running the show especially in an up-tempo offense...quick and agile PG who rarely turns the ball over...adept at dribble penetration and setting the table for others...a capable scorer who does not need a lot of shots to impact the game...tremendous on ball defender.

2020 sg J’Mani Ingram The SC76ers Black
Hard nosed player capable of altering the flow of the game on the defensive end….plays the game with high intensity on both ends ...solid defensive instincts coupled with quick hands and feet enable her to guard well in space...More of a facilitator than a scorer on the offensive end but a solid college prospect with a well rounded skill set.
